This security project encompassed the design, installation and commissioning of a site-wide security system. Using both wireless and fibre infrastructure, Redfox installed state of the art PTZ cameras with features such as long-distance night vision and self-cleaning systems. These features not only improve vision coverage but also reduce regular maintenance.
The high-quality camera system is also protected by redundant power solutions and monitoring equipment housed within long life industrial communications cabinets to sustain the harshness of the coastal environment. New tower infrastructure was also installed specifically to handle the extreme weather conditions experienced on breakwaters.
A high-speed communications back-bone was installed across the site to support new and future security communications, again being a fully redundant ring with fibre fail-over. Staff were also given access to Wi-Fi coverage in primary locations around the site to allow more flexible access for NQPB workers and improving their efficiency.
The entire environment is supported with 24×7 monitoring managed by Redfox’s local service team.
